Editorial: Bridal Styled Shoot

Some of my favorite projects are the ones that don't follow a specific theme or direction.  They  don't require production schedules, there is no pressure to get published, and no outside influence or 'reason' behind the project.  This shoot is a perfect example of that.  It started with a "Dude, you need to be a part of this ... " phone call from Brooke Allison Photography and resulted in a very casual and super pretty day.  I am so fortunate to call these wonderful powerhouses in the wedding market my good friends, and very excited to finally share this beautiful afternoon with you today.

BEHIND THE SCENES FACT:  So believe it or not, this day was loaded with thunderstorms and torrential down pours.  As our beautiful model for the day was getting her hair and make up down, Elizabeth and I were styling the sweetheart table in Brooke's living room.  Once the radar showed a small break in the rain was on the way, everyone ran to their battle stations and flew outside for the fastest table set up ever .. Literally, ever.

Lovely Cakes Grand Opening Party

Congratulations to our good friend and fellow CT Wedding Pro Lovely Cakes on an epic win on Food Network's Cake Wars!!  We are so excited and proud of this tremendous success for Renata.   SO ... what better way to show our support than to dedicate this week's blog post to Renata's lovely cakes (see what I did there), sweet treats, and her fabulous grand opening party for her new commercial kitchen in Stratford that we helped plan this past November.

I first met Renata 3 years ago at a pretty fantastic networking event for CT Wedding Pros in New Haven.  Since then, I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Renata on several photo shoots, weddings, and special events.  Not only is she extremely talented in the kitchen, she is also one of the hardest working and genuine people I've encountered in the industry.  I was honored when she asked if I could help plan her grand opening party, and thrilled to be part of such a special moment.

A HUGE thank you to our fabulous group of sponsors that helped make this party such a success!

Real Wedding: Stephanie + Tucker

Those close to me will tell you that wine and weddings are two of my absolute favorite things.  When I first met Stephanie and Tucker and they told me they were getting married at a winery ... well, I must admit I got a little weak in the knees.

From a planning perspective, I knew we would be a good match when our first meeting over a glass of wine turned into dinner and almost closing down the restaurant.  From a personal perspective, navigating some unforeseen challenges and helping them realize their wedding dreams resulted in a close connection and these "clients" turning into friends.

Now on to the celebration! ...

Stephanie and Tucker's wedding took place on a gorgeous September day at Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville, New York (America's oldest winery). Originally established in 1810, this winery, its cellars, and the history on the land created the perfect ambiance for these two to celebrate with their family and friends.  This, coupled with great food and AMAZING music, resulted in a relaxed, carefree wedding celebration and one amazing party!  I hope you enjoy their beautiful day captured by the talented guys over at J Adams Photography as much as we enjoyed being a part of it.

Congratulations Stephanie + Tucker!

Real Wedding: Kaitlin + Michael

Happy New Year!  After some much needed R&R and spending quality time with our family and friends, we are back and ready for an amazing 2016!  I'm also super excited to start the year by sharing a very special wedding from last season.

Simply put ... Kaitlin and Michael are one amazing powerhouse couple!  From her first email, I could sense Kaitlin's energy and excitement for her wedding and knew we would be a great match.  They were married at the Waveny House in New Canaan, Connecticut on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in September.  I remember there being a feeling throughout the house ... family, friends, and vendors included ... that this day was going to be something special.  That perfect mindset and intuition translated into one amazing day filled with so much love, so many laughs, and this beautiful story captured by my love, the amazingly talented Katie Slater Photography.  I hope you enjoy their wedding as much as we enjoyed planning it.

Congratulations Kaitlin + Michael!
